Student-Athlete

I have always been dedicated to both the lacrosse and wrestling teams at Hewlett High School. Every practice and match has been an opportunity for me to push my limits and grow as an athlete. The camaraderie with my teammates has made every moment worthwhile, and I take pride in representing our school. My commitment to these sports has not only shaped my skills but also taught me valuable lessons about teamwork and perseverance.

About Me...

My name is Jacob Rovner. I am a senior at George W. Hewlett High School graduating in June 2025. Growing up in Long Island, New York  I’ve developed a strong passion for academics and sports. Over the years I found a strong desire to pursue finance, business and corporate law. My internships at Stern Aegis Corp and SRF Law have been pivotal in shaping my desire to become a corporate lawyer, allowing me to gain hands-on experience. In addition to my professional aspirations, I’m actively involved in extracurricular activities, from competing in DECA and playing Varsity Lacrosse to volunteering in my local community. These experiences have shaped my core values and enhanced my skills, both academically and personally.

MY CORE VALUES

Determination - I believe in pushing myself to achieve my goals, whether it’s analyzing financial data or leading my team on the lacrosse field. This determination has helped me thrive in the fast-paced world of investment banking internships and stay committed to my academic pursuits. Integrity - Honesty and accountability are crucial in everything I do, from peer tutoring to my responsibilities at work. I strive to maintain the highest ethical standards and build trust with those I collaborate with, whether it's clients or teammates. Community - Giving back to my community is a core part of who I am. Volunteering at Chabad of Hewlett and the Hewlett PAL Lacrosse Program has shown me the value of supporting those around me, and I’m always looking for new ways to make a positive impact. Growth - I’m committed to lifelong learning and continuous improvement. From taking challenging AP and dual enrollment courses to learning on the job during my internships, I embrace every opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.

MY STRENGTHS

Analytical Thinking - Through my internships at Stern Aegis Corp, I developed strong analytical skills, especially in evaluating financial reports and market trends. This ability to dissect complex information has been key in generating leads and contributing to successful IPOs. Leadership - As Junior Varsity Lacrosse Captain and a starter on the Varsity team, I’ve honed my leadership skills by motivating my teammates and leading by example. Whether on the field or in DECA competitions, I work hard to inspire those around me to succeed. Communication - My roles in business, tutoring, and volunteering have all required me to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people. I’m confident in my ability to present ideas clearly, whether it's pitching a business plan or teaching younger students.

MY PROFESSIONAL GOALS

I aim to pursue a career in corporate law, with a focus on finance and business law. My internships at Stern Aegis Corp and SRF Law have ignited my passion for understanding corporate structures, financial markets, and the legal frameworks that govern them. These experiences have deepened my desire to help businesses navigate complex legal and financial landscapes. I’m eager to continue building my expertise through college internships and eventually secure a role at a top corporate law firm. In addition to my professional goals, I strive to take on leadership roles, whether it’s through DECA or Varsity Lacrosse. I want to inspire others to achieve their best while continuing to grow my own skills. Building a strong professional network is also essential to me, and I recognize the value of maintaining lasting connections with peers, mentors, and colleagues throughout my academic and career journey.
